What is TransferNow?
TransferNow allows the transfer of funds between your account(s) at Hawaii FCU and accounts you hold at other financial institutions (banks, credit unions and brokerages). With TransferNow, you have more flexibility and control over your money. You no longer need to obtain a cashier’s check, make cash deposits, or send an outgoing wire to transact business between your financial institutions.
What if my external account has a different type of ownership, can I still set up the external account?
If you are the primary account holder from the sending account and you’re the primary account holder on the receiving account, you will be able to set up the transfer. TransferNow is designed for individuals to move funds from one bank account to another at a separate institution.
What type of accounts are eligible for TransferNow activity?
Checking, Savings, Money Market and Brokerage (Investment) accounts.
How do I enroll for TransferNow?
You must first be enrolled in Online Banking and must accept the Terms and Conditions before being able to see the TransferNow service, under Transfer.
Using your desktop, log in to your Online Banking account. Select “Transfer.”
Select, “Launch External Transfer.”
Add a new account and set up transfer authorization using either of the two verification methods: trial deposit verification or real-time account verification.
Can I set up an external account in Mobile Banking?

What account information do I need to make an external transfer?
You will need to specify the account type, your account number and routing number of the external financial institution to set up the transfer. Before a transfer can be initiated, account verification must be done.
- Real Time verification. Using your online banking login credentials with your other financial institution.
- Trial-Deposit verification. Transfer Now will make two small trial deposits and one trial debit to the external account via ACH.
Are there any fees associated with making an external account transfer?
There are no fees for transferring money into your HFCU account from an external financial institution. Currently, there are no fees with a standard outbound transfer to an external financial institution.
How long do external account transfers take to complete?
Most transfers should be completed within three – five business days.
Multiple transfer options can be selected including one-time, recurring, or future-dated transfers.
Is there a limit of transfers?
There is a daily limit of $10,000.00 per day, per transaction and a monthly limit of $30,000.00. Should you have any questions regarding the limits, please contact a Hawaii FCU Member Service representative.
Can I transfer funds to another person’s account?
No, you will not be able to use TransferNow to send funds to another person’s account. You may utilize the Zelle service to transfer funds to another party.
Who is eligible for TransferNow?
You must be 18 years and older to use the TransferNow service. Your account must be in good standing. Hawaii FCU reserves the right to revoke this service.
